Certified Islamic Banker (CIB) qualification enhances the knowledge and understanding of Islamic banking principles. CIB is recognised in Scottish Credit & Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at Level 7 and comparable to European Qualifications Framework (EQF) at Level 5.

Duration & Preparation

Total time to complete the CIB qualification will depend on your background and willingness. Exam can be taken any time of the year. Hence, you can take whatever time you feel appropriate for your preparation.

Our course book is sufficient to ensure exam success and practice questions are important to assess your own progress.

CIB is a centre-based qualification. You will have to study with one of our ‘Registered Training Centres’ (RTC) that offer tuition for CIB exam.

How to complete CIB?

Step 1: Study
CIB can only be studied through our registered training centres. Please Click here to register your interest.

Step 2: Exam 
Once your preparation is complete, you can take IQN exams any time of the year. IQN exams are available in 175 countries through Pearson VUE Test Centres.


There is only one exam to qualify for the CIB qualification. There will be total 40 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions). Each MCQ will carry 2.5 marks and total marks is 100. Duration of the exam is 60 minutes. You will need to get minimum 60% marks to pass the exam. If you fail, you can always resit the exam. There is no restriction on the number of resit you can attempt.

Our exam fee is £129 and payable through Pearson VUE web account. Exam fees become due only when you decide to take the exam. If you fail in your first exam, you can resit by paying only £49.

CIB is a centre-based qualification. You will have to study with one of our ‘Registered Training Centres’ (RTC) that offer tuition for CIB exam. You will need to pay for the classes or other forms of support provided by your training centre. Fees charged by the centres are in addition to our Pearson VUE exam fees.

IQN Certified Islamic Banker (CIB) qualification is being discontinued from December 2017. No new learners will be accepted onto the qualification after September 30, 2017. The final exam session is December 31, 2017.
