CFS certification is aimed at aspiring and practicing finance professionals. CFS develops your knowledge in corporate finance, capital budgeting, working capital management, capital markets and business combinations. CFS certification sets an expertise-benchmark for financial management

Recognition

CFS is jointly certificated by Scottish Qualifications Authority and IQN. CFS is recognised on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at level 8 with 80 credit points. The certification is SCQF credit-rated and awarded by SQA. The certification is also referenced as a level 5 qualification in the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).

Who is it for?

There are no formal entry requirements. CFS is open to all – from school leavers to post graduates and employees who want to increase their knowledge and skills in financial management. However, it may be of particular interest to:

▪ University students considering careers in the field of finance and/or further stud
▪ Individuals with a general interest in business and finance

How can I complete CFS?

Step 1: Registration

Step 2: Study

If we have a registered centre near your location, you will have to study with the centre. If we don’t have a registered centre in your location, only then we will share free guidelines with you so that you can study independently.

Step 3: Exam

Once your preparation is complete, you can take CFS exams any time of the year. CFS exams are available in 175 countries through Pearson VUE Test Centres. For details about exam registration, please visit our microsite at Pearson VUE.

Exam Structure

There are two exams in CFS: (1) Accounting exam and (2) Finance exam. You have the freedom to start with either accounting or finance exam. Duration of each exam is 60 minutes and total mark is 100. You will need to get minimum 50% marks to pass each exam. If you fail, you can always resit the exam. There is no restriction on the number of resit you can attempt.

Fees

Our exam fee is £129 for each unit. Exam fees are payable through Pearson VUE web account. Exam fees become due only when you decide to take the exam. If you fail your first exam, you can resit by paying only £49. If we have a registered centre in your location, you will have to study with the support from one of our centres. The centre will provide study support and preparation classes for CFS exams. Tuition fees charged by the centre are in addition to IQN exam fee. Kindly note we do not allow any ‘independent study’ in locations where we have registered centre.

Exemption

If you have already achieved a comparable qualification in accounting or finance, then you may claim exemption from CFS exams. Click here to submit your exemption application online. Exemption fees are exactly same as CFS exam fees.
