CFS certification is recognised on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) as a Level 7 qualification. The SCQF is one of the national qualifications frameworks in the UK. The SCQF is a partnership between the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), College Development Network, the Scottish Qualifications Authority and Universities Scotland. The CFS certification is also recognised as a Level 5 qualification in the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).

What will I learn?

CFS certification provides you with skills that are at the cutting edge of financial management practices. You will get the opportunity to learn the basic theory and analytical skills that are much-needed for working capital management. You will examine the workings and efficiency of capital markets and you will master the principles of capital structure. You will be able to perform business valuations using simulated cases. You will learn how to evaluate business mergers and acquisition decisions. You will analyse company restructuring alternatives and make smart investment appraisal decisions. You will also enjoy an introduction to the fundamental concepts of Islamic finance.

Exam & Fees

In order to achieve the CFS credential, you need to pass a computer-based MCQ exam. Duration of the exam is 120 minutes and total mark is 200. You will need to get minimum 60% marks to pass the exam.

Currently CFS exam fee is £149. If you unfortunately fail in your first exam attempt, you will be allowed five re-sit exam opportunities. However, all re-sit exams must be taken within two years from your first exam attempt date. Each re-sit exam fee is only £49. Successful students are issued digital certificate and transcript at no extra cost! However, in case any student require hard-copy certificate and transcript, additional fees (£99) will be applicable.

Annual Maintenance and Re-certification

After successfully completing your CFS exam, you become authorised to use CFS post-nominal letters after your name. Annual Maintenance Fees (AMF) are required to maintain your CFS credential. Your first Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) is due on the anniversary of passing the CFS exam. Subsequent AMFs are due on each anniversary date thereafter. Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) is £49 per year.

Maintaining your CFS certification is crucial to your professional growth, fluency and currency within the industry. IQN requires that you recertify by passing an online re-certification exam once every ten (10) years. This is to ensure that you maintain the same level of knowledge demonstrated in your first exam. Re-certification involves exam fee (£29) and cost of the textbook.

Exam Preparation

Our students either study independently or attend classes arranged by registered centres. Registered centres will also conduct the computer-based CFS certification exam. Our CFSBOK and practice book are sufficient to ensure exam success. Our practice questions are important to evaluate your own progress and preparation. Our registered centres will share CFSBOK and practice book with you. Survey shows that majority of our students successfully complete the certification in three months. However, you can take as much time as you need for your preparation.

There are two entry routes to become eligible to sit for the CFS exam. Before you apply, make sure you meet either entry route A or B:
